英文读后感篇1

floating, the feeling, a subtle feeling that leads you into the world. scarlett, naturally, she thought of beauty. the beauty of her appearance and the debauchery behind her are deeply infected. she was beautiful and charming, and her character was the direct and spicy of ireland. there was a crowd of men at the dance, all in the same light. she loves charm, she has become a joy in her life, they are just some of her dolls. but a man came into her world -- ashley. she was madly in love with her for a teenage fever. however, he married his sister, according to the family tradition, and because of his different character and scarletts. the impulse is the devil. sure enough. her self-esteem was hurt by jealousy and anger. she was impulsively married to a rich family, and was very much in love with her. but because of the war, in a few short months, scarlett became the bride, the mother, the housewife, the widow. war, war! how many lives and treasures it has destroyed. lose your mind everywhere, kill your life on the surface of your patriotism, consume your possessions, and splurge! what a hateful war. the women were left to make clothes for the army, and the hospital was filled with the smell of rotting skin.

the bloodstained flesh and the bed were deeply disgusted with scarlett. but a widow can show up. hate war! hated feudal society! the inequality of men and women has left scarlett, who is only 17 years old, unloved underground. you cant go to a party, a potluck, you cant flirt with a man, you can only wear a dark and ugly mourning dress. where was the beautiful scarlett? it is a pity that everyone expects it. among those who had lost reason, there was a cool man who came to her world. he was captain rhett butler. he was smart enough to feel the danger of the war. he bravely returned the goods from the enemy country and made a great deal of business. he was a beneficiary of the war and was spurned. he is essentially a gentleman. the goods he came in came to the relief of the country, a country that was more spiritual in times of war. scarlett was repulsive to scarlett when she heard all the content of ashleys confession in a single eavesdropping. but he gave scarlett a chance to dance. although scarletts fame was greatly damaged, she was met with great satisfaction, but her heart was a little afraid. the twists and turns of the story made me linger in the book, but i did not know the way back. curiosity and grief drove me to continue to swim.

英文读后感篇2

i read a tale of two cities, the reason is that there are a lot of net friend recommendation online, they all said it was a very touching book, i'll download on the net with curiosity, finished part feels good, just write this entry.

the tale of a tale of two cities is a profound depiction of the turbulent times of the day, and the love of women who have sacrificed their lives for historical realities.

it is said on the internet that the tale of a tale of two cities is a story of two men and a woman, but i feel that the man does not know what the author really means. 's de, in my opinion, a hatred and french aristocrat, lucy, charles and sydney's feelings, is just to show who caused the war, why things. in fact, people have to be tolerant to others, even if the big things can be small and small. i remember one thing that happened to me: once, i accidentally lost my classmate's book, and i thought she would pay me for it. i didn't think that when i spoke to her, she not only did not scold me, but also told me that i could not forget the whole thing in the future, so i should form good habits. well, maybe this is the attitude between people.

in this work, i see a lot of different people. honest good yet suffered persecution horse knight doctor, loyal lowry, appearance indifference, inner passion, dissolute and selfless sidney, inhuman de's wife, cruel and wicked fremont brothers el... there is a complex hatred in it, but it creates more hatred, and this complicated act is vividly presented in front of us, and we seem to be back to the era of the irrational. some people complain that being born in this century is a bad thing, to be born in the past, at least to be a martyr. in fact, this idea is wrong. we should make contribution to modern life in modern times. and have all kinds of people in the world, they all have different personalities, we who don't cry because it is the character of the weird and don't make friends with him, also don't believe that the people around, maybe he is one of them want to harm you.

what i like most about a tale of two cities is sidney, the lawyer's assistant. carlton. his first appearance was different, and when the people in the courtroom looked casually at the ceiling, one of his notes revealed the plot behind the case. him with a melancholy, in an appearance as a lawyer, he is talented, but is reluctant to hiding behind the somebody else, do others stepping stone of success, he built his own hands and a wall, cut off from fame and wealth. he once said, "i am a desperate coolie. i don't care about anyone in the world, and nobody cares about me."

yes, we should not aspire to be famous, so we can not learn more knowledge. maybe you can be a stepping stone to others, and you can learn more knowledge from others. we can see his strengths and weaknesses, learn his strengths, and throw away his weaknesses.

英文读后感篇3

recently, i read a book called war and peace.

since its publication, war and peace has been called "the greatest novel in the world".

this volumous work vividly describes the major historical events and various life fields of russian society from 1805 to 1820 with epic breadth and vigor. war and peace shocked the world literary circle with its grand conception and excellent artistic description, and became a world-famous literary masterpiece and a precious spiritual wealth of mankind. british writer somerset maugham and nobel laureate romain rolland hailed it as "one of the two greatest novels ever written" and "the greatest epic of our time, the iliad of modern times". in the whole history of russian literature, war and peace is the first novel of all-european significance. when it was first published, readers in europe and around the world were surprised and shocked. people are not only interested in the people and things in the novel, but also the huge artistic expression reflected by the novel. war and peace constitutes a benchmark for the rise of russian fiction and russian literature as a whole. nearly thousand people, countless scenes, all possible field of national and private life, history, war, all the tragedies, all kinds of lust, all phases of life, from the crying of the babies born to respired old feelings finally burst, people can feel all the joy and pain, a variety of possible inner thoughts, from the feeling of a thief who steals his fellow's money, to the noblest impulses of heroism, to the profoundest contemplations -- it has it all. in one day's work, tolstoy navigated between war and peace, psychology and society, history and philosophy, marriage and religion, with distinct priorities and originality. in fact, one's life does not have to read too many books, there are seven or eight books is enough; but two or three thousand books must be read in order to find the seven or eight that are most worth reading.

among the thousands of literary masterpieces, war and peace, a great work by a great writer, is undoubtedly one of the few books we should read most.

gorky once said: "you can't know russia if you don't know tolstoy."

英文读后感篇6

learn to love and care here i am sitting on a couch alone thinking about what i have just finished reading with tears of sadness filling my eyes and fire of indignation filling my heart which revived my exhausted soul that has already been covered by the cruelty and the selfishness of the secular world for a long time. it is truly what i felt after reading oliver twist written by the prominent british author charles dickens. the resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindness and the wickedness of all the characters in the novel but what this aloof society lacks and what i lack deep inside. these supreme resources i’m talking about right now are somewhat different from minerals oil that we usually mention. they’re abstract like feelings and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another —— love and care. those charitable figures whom dickens created in the novel are really what we need in life. they showed love and care to others just as the gentle rain from the sky fell upon the earth which was carved into my heart deeply. mr. brownlow is one such person. the other day he had one of his elaborate watches stolen by two skilled teenage thieves artful dodger and charley bates and thought naturally it was oliver who was an orphan and forced to live with a gang of thieves that had done it because he was the only one near by after the theft had taken place. being wrathful he caught oliver and sent him to the police station where the ill-tempered unfair magistrates worked. fortunately for him oliver was proved innocent by one onlooker afterwards. with sympathy mr. brownlow took the injured poor oliver to his own home. there oliver lived freely and gleefully for some months as if he were mr. brownlow’s own son. one day however mr. brownlow asked oliver to return some books to the bookseller and to send some money for the new books that he had already collected. the thief oliver once stayed with kidnapped him. after that he disappeared in mr. brownlow’s life. searching for a while mr. brownlow had to believe the fact that he had run away with his money. but dramatically they came across each other again a few years later. without hesitation mr. brownlow took oliver home for the second time not caring if he had done something evil. perhaps most of us would feel confused about mr. brownlow’s reaction. but as a matter of fact this is just the lesson we should learn from him. jesus said in the bible. “forgive not seven times but seventy-times seven.” why is that? because forgiveness is our ability to remove negative thoughts and neutralize them so our energy may be spent on doing what we came here for. we cannot move forward in our future if past issues cloud our thinking. stop put mr. brownlow into the list of your models. always give people a second chance no matter what they might have done. that’s also a substantial part of loving and caring others.
